Why we'll never offer Dermaplaning

We know dermaplaning is all the rage but at Clean Your Dirty Face, we choose to say no to dermaplaning. Why? Let’s dive in:

That facial peach fuzz that dermaplaning is aimed at eliminating is actually known as vellus hair. While originally, humans needed vellus hair to keep warm, today’s humans don’t really need it as much with the introduction of modern heating. However, vellus hairs still help to regulate your body temperature, and help sweat to evaporate from your body. Yes, spraying toner directly on your face after your workouts can help prevent sweat acne, but so can mother nature’s gift of vellus hair.

And perhaps the most important function of vellus hair (especially in today’s world), is that it makes it harder for bacteria and parasites to gain access into the human body. That peach fuzz is basically your skin’s defense shield.

Every decision that we make at Clean Your Dirty Face is a thoughtful one. Our skincare company was created in 2015 as a direct response to the need for simplification of the long, unnecessary spa facial, and eliminate steps that are actually damaging to your skin. Like us, we implore our clients & community to be skeptics and question everything (not doing so just makes you intellectually lazy 😜). And this is why we will never offer dermaplaning.
